Boekenhoutskloof The Wolftrap White 2019
Medium-bodied, fleshy and smooth with slight spicy undertones from the oak, and a vibrant finish of apple, tarragon and honeysuckle.
Boekenhoutskloof's The Wolftrap White is a multilayered, harmonious white; and you'll love the combination of elegance with great stone fruit concentration and just a touch of oak. The grapes for this intriguing, complex white were sourced from the renowned Swartland area in the Western Cape; where reduced yields through an ongoing drought produced fruit with exceptional flavour and texture. Viognier was the leading varietal for the vintage, with its rich texture and heady floral aromas; Chenin Blanc provides backbone and vibrancy, and Grenache Blanc an attractive dill-like character and elegance.
Lovely inviting, fresh nose, with green apple, white peach and yellow plum aromas, and even some lemon zest. Stone fruits fill the mouth, with nectarine, pear, peach and tangerine starring. Medium-bodied, fleshy and smooth with slight spicy undertones from the oak, and a vibrant finish of apple, tarragon and honeysuckle.
